Charles Bertier

Charles Bertier , known as also Charles Alexandre Bertier is a painter French landscape designer, born with Grenoble on October 1st, 1860, and dead on July 26th, 1924 also in Grenoble.

Entered to the small Seminar of the Rondo, close to Grenoble, it follows the courses of drawing of Laurent Guétal

At Guétal he learns the rigor from the composition. The choice of its subjects (edges of rivers, forests, rocks) also is very influenced by Guétal. They are two members of the school from the Dauphine, which also counts among its members Ernest Victor Hareux, Jean Achard and some others. They were sometimes called landscape designers from the Dauphine.

He exposed several times to the Living room in particular in 1894 when its Vallée of Vénéon in the plan of the Lake (Musée of Grenoble) obtains a honourable mention. He paints in 1900 for the dresser of the station of Lyon a Sunset on the chain of Belledonne . Its table, the thaw of the lake of Eychauda is a homage to its Guétal Master.
