Charles Barraud
Charles Barraud painter neuchâtelois born the April 19th 1897 with La Chaux-de-Fonds and dead the January 29th 1997 with Yverdon.
Biography
In parallel with its training of engraver between 1910 and 1914, it follows the courses of the evening of the school of art of La Chaux-de-Fonds. When his/her father falls ill in 1918 it to work with his brothers on the communal projects lime-of-fonniers then, the same year accomplishes a stay with Geneva with Albert Locca. He obtains a federal purse of beautiful arts in 1921, opens a workshop of picture framer and Marie in 1926 with Jeanne Pellet (known as Janebé ). Their Marie-Louise daughter (known as Malou ) is born in 1930.After a stay in 1935 in Tunisia, it obtains a second federal purse in 1936 and, the following year, accomplishes a stay in Algérie. Starting from 1940 where he moves with Areuse, he knows several prolific years before moving again in 1946 Cortaillod.
In 1951, it remarie with Paulette Kühni. The same year, it takes part in the exposure of the four Barraud brothers to Paris (which it will take again in 1961 with the Museum of the fine arts of La Chaux-de-Fonds) and buys a house with Blauzac. After several exposures whose retrospective with the Museum of the fine arts of La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1958, it still goes on a journey in Algeria in 1973 and another in Tunisia in 1989. Its last paintings go back to 1995, it dies in 1997 at the hospital of Yverdon.
