Charles Baltet is a Trojan Pépiniériste (Aube) (January 14th 1830 with Troyes - 1908 with Troyes).
Scholar in the field of the Horticulture, writer, man of ground, observer and untiring worker. To plant fruit trees everywhere, along the roads, the railway lines, against all the walls! Such was its combat. Its actions went on all France like abroad. Thus, after having saved Japanese vines of the parasites which corroded them, one baptized certain Japanese vines " Baltaï" in its honor.
Author of many instructions treating in the ways of conduction the fruit trees, he was inventor and propagating, with his Ernest brother, of new varietal obtainings which one called " bourgeoises" , preceded and recognized.
