Charles Amédée of Savoy-Nemours
Charles Amédée of Savoy-Nemours , born with Paris the April 12th 1624, died in Paris the July 30th 1652, was duke of Geneva, of Nemours and of Aumale of 1641 with 1652. It was wire of Henri Ier, duke of Geneva and Nemours, and Anne of Lorraine, duchess of Aumale.
It took an active share in the turbid which agitated the minority of Louis XIV, and ordered the army of the princes with the duke of Beaufort, his brother-in-law. But the discord being put between them, they fought in duel, and Charles Amédée was killed, in 1652.
He had married in Paris with the Louvre the July 11th 1643 Elisabeth de Bourbon (1614 † 1664), said Miss de Vendôme , girl of César de Bourbon, duke of Vendôme and Francoise of Lorraine, duchess of Mercoeur and of Penthièvre. They had:
- Marie Jeanne Baptist (1644 † 1724), married in 1665 with the duke Charles-Emmanuel II of Savoy (1634 † 1675)
- Marie Francoise of Savoy-Nemours (1646 † 1683), married in 1668 with the king Alphonse VI of Portugal (1643 † 1683), separated in 1668 and remariée in 1668 with the king Pierre II of Portugal (1648 † 1706)
- Joseph (1649 † 1649)
- Francis (1650 † 1650)
- Charles Amadeus (1651 † 1651)
