Charles-Russet-red Jules was born with Marseilles the November 14th 1841 and died in 1918.

Youth

It is resulting from a family installed in Marseilles since the 18th century.

It passes its childhood between the factory of soaps of his father, the village of Sausset-the-Pines and the countryside of Montredon.

It makes its studies with the Faculty of Science of Marseilles, which it supplements by the courses of the large chemist Chevreul with Paris in order to be able to take again the company of his father with the most possible competences.

Industrial & Ship-owner

With the death of his father, it will take the direction of the factory which it will entirely modernize. In 1877, it joins his/her brother-in-law Charles Canaple and to two, they will manage to account for 10% of the Marseilles production on the end of the century.

It carried out an active combat for the recognition of the occupation of soap manufacturer. It obtained also several international medals and distinctions which devoted its company.
