Charles-Henri Besnard

Charles-Henri Besnard (° Paris, January 27th, 1881 - † July 10th, 1946) is a Architecte French, disciple of Anatole de Baudot and Purple-the-Duke.

Biography

He is the pupil of Louis-Jules André with the École of the Art schools of Paris, then works in the cabinet of Paul Goût.

In 1917, it deposits with CNAM, with Julien-Pierre Bessonneau, a patent relating to the proceeded of fast construction of dwellings by the use of reinforced concrete materials prepared beforehand in series ; thus, is the precursor of prefabricated construction.

Charles-Henri Besnard is named architect as a chief of the historic buildings in 1920, in load of the departments of the Cher, of the the Dordogne, the Landes, the Arrondissement of Rambouillet.

Legacy

In order to encourage the innovation in the construction industry, the Germaine Legacy and Charles-Henri Besnard de Quelen , created in 1980, allots each year, on contest open to the students architects, engineers in end studies and pupils of the CNAM, twenty purses of voyage.
