Charles-Guillaume de Bade-Durlach
The Margrave Charles-Guillaume de Bade-Durlach (in German: Karl III. Wilhelm von Baden Durlach) was born the January 17th 1679 with Durlach and died the May 12th 1738 with Karlsruhe.
He was margrave de Bade-Durlach of 1709 with 1738.
Family
Charles-Guillaume de Bade-Durlach was the son of the Margrave Frederic VII Magnus de Bade-Durlach and of Augusta Maria de Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorf.
Charles III Guillaume de Bade-Durlach married the June 27th 1697 Madeleine Wilhelmine of Wurtemberg (1677 - 1742), (girl of Guillaume Louis of Wurtemberg)

Biography
Charles III Guillaume de Bade-Durlach made his studies with Utrecht, Geneva and Lausanne. Its finished studies, he travelled in England, Sweden. Of 1701 with 1709 it took part in the Spanish war of succession. In 1709, it signed the contract of reunification of the counties of Bade-Bade and Bade-Durlach. It was with the head of the Carolingian walk of Bade of 1709 with 1738. It founded in 1715 the town of Karlsruhe and signed the September 24th 1715 the decree of Privileges which envisaged freedom and the privileges for the citizens of Karlsruhe. It placed its residence in this city. Its grandson Charles Ier de Bade succeeded to him in 1738.
He was buried in the crypt of the church of the Harmony in Karlsruhe. Its heart was deposited on the coffin of its widow.
Charles III Guillaume de Bade-Durlach belonged to the fourth branch of the Maison of Bade, itself resulting from the first branch of the ducal House of Bade. He belonged to the line of Bade-Durlach known as line Ernestine founded by Ernest de Bade-Durlach. This line is always existing, it is currently represented by the prince Maximilien de Bade.
