Charles-Emmanuel II of Savoy

Charles-Emmanuel II , born with Turin the June 20th 1634, died in Turin the June 12th 1675, was duke of Savoy and prince de Piémont of 1638 with 1675. It was wire of Victor-Amédée Ier, duke of Savoy and prince de Piémont, and of Christine of France.
It succeeded the four years age to his brother François-Hyacinthe and his/her mother was regent, although disputed by her uncles Maurice and Thomas. Major in 1648, it was faithful to the Alliance Fran1caise, protected arts and the trade, made raise the new city and the royal palace of Turin, and built in 1652 the way of the Cave on the mountain of the Scales for the transport of the goods of France in Italy.
He had married the March 4th 1663 Francoise Madeleine of Orleans (1648 † 1664), girl of Gaston of Orleans and Marguerite of Lorraine.
Widower and without child, it remaria with Turin the May 20th 1665 with Marie Jeanne Baptist of Savoy (1644 † 1724), girl of Charles Amédée of Savoy, duke of Nemours and Elisabeth of Bourbon-Vendôme. They had:
