Charles-Auguste Salmon
Charles-Auguste Salmon , born with Rich in the district Castle-Saline (department of the Moselle) 8 ventôse Year XIII (February 27th 1805, died in Paris the December 26th 1892, is a French magistrate and politician.
Biography
Resulting from a family of the Lorraine middle-class, Charles-Auguste Salmon follows to Paris of the studies of right, under the protection of the count de Serres, former school-fellow of his father become minister.Inscrit in 1830 with the bar of Vic-on-Pail, it becomes substitute of the Prosecutor of the King there. After a nomination with this same function with Épinal, he becomes Procureur of the King with Toul in 1838, then with Saint-Mihiel in 1843. He is elected in 1848 deputy of the Meuse to the Constituent Assembly, then of 1849 to 1851 with the Legislative Assemblée. He devotes himself particularly to the questions of teaching and takes share with work of the Commission of reform of the state education.
Lors of the Coup d'etat of December 2nd, 1851, it is stopped with several of his/her colleagues and internee with the keep of the Château of Vincennes.
Il is named in 1853 imperial prosecutor with Charleville, then prosecuting attorney at the court of Metz in 1855. He is president of room when bursts the Franco-German Guerre of 1870; in these circumstances, it makes open an ambulance with the Law courts and organizes in its residence the last meeting of the magistrates of the court of Metz before the fall in front of the German army.
Le February 4th, 1871, it is enjoint with president Salmon by the " prefect of Lorraine allemande" to leave in the three days the territory of the general government of Alsace-Lorraine under penalty of internment in a fortress.
Après to have left Metz, it is charged by the French government with defending the interests of the magistrature and the members of the legal profession of the additional territories by Germany during the negotiations of the peace treaty in Brussels in 1871. It is named first president of the court of Douai in September 1871 and is elected general adviser of the Meuse for the canton of Vigneulles-lès-Hattonchâtel. He becomes immediately president of the departmental assembly. Since 1874, it is named to advise with the Court of appeal. He is elected senator of the Meuse in 1876. He is Officer of the Legion of Honor, chair Academy of Metz in 1859, corresponding member of the institute (Academy of Science Morals and Policies). Charles-Auguste Salmon had married Henriette Justine Legagneur, niece of the president Legagneur, par of France. Its descent receives the name of Salmon-Legagneur. He dies in Paris on December 26th, 1892 and is buried with Hattonchâtel.
