Charles-Antoine Léonard de Sahuguet (1758 - 1837), Count de Sancerre and Baron d' Espagnac and of Gossip.

Biography

Charles-Antoine Léonard, wire of Jean-Baptiste Joseph de Sahuguet d' Amarzit d' Espagnac and of Suzanne-Elisabeth from Bayer, was born Tuesday March 28th 1758 in France.

He is named Membre of the provincial Parliament of Berry, for the nobility, the July 12th 1778.

Lieutenant of the cities and Castle of Issoudun, Charles-Antoine marries Sulette of the Fleece of Rocheblanche.

By contract of March 30th, 1785, in exchange of the county of Sancerre, baronnie of Vailly and châtellenie of Barlieu (acquired CONTI for a million 400.000 books), the baron d' Espagnac, knight, Mestre of camp of cavalry, second lieutenant of the bodyguards of Louis XVI, accepted His Majesty of the properties located in Touraine, Blésois, Normandy, etc… and a balance of 500.000 books.

However, in 1791, the National Assembly issued the revocation of the contract, conclusive that the exchange, “monstrous”, is a true “national offense”.

The Baron d' Espagnac and Sulette had 4 children:

Clémantine de Sahuguet d' Amarzit d' Espagnac, marries of Astanières (April 24th, 1786 -?).
Agathe de Sahuguet d' Amarzit d' Espagnac, marries François of Courtis (May 25th, 1787 - June 2nd, 1883).
Jean de Sahuguet d' Amarzit d' Espagnac (December 22nd, 1788 - February 3rd, 1873).
Camille de Sahuguet d' Amarzit d' Espagnac (Ca 1784-?).

He dies in 1837.
