Charles-Antoine Bridan

Charles-Antoine Bridan is a French sculptor of second half of the 18th century. It was born with Ravières (Yonne) in 1730 and dies in Paris in 1808.

It gains the first Prix of sculpture in 1754 with a subject over the Massacre of the innocent the , then between with the royal École of the protected pupils in 1756. Boarder of the Academy from France to Rome, it remains in Italy until 1762. Approved by the Academy at the time of its return in France, he becomes academician in 1772 with his group out of marble the Martyrdom of saint Barthélemy .
