Charade

The traditional charade

In its simplest form, the charade consists in breaking up the expression phonetically to be guessed in several words which one defines one after the other.

Example:

My first is an animal,
My second is a handle,
My whole is a riddle.

Solution: cat - roads → charade .

Another example:

My first is a bird,
My second is a council which Alexandre Dumas gave to his father to incite it to show the hour with his servants through the keyhole,
My whole is a cry of despair that one pushes when one lost an invaluable object around Paris.
