Characiformes
The Characiformes are a order of Actinoptérygiens, fish including/understanding the characins and their similar. They are a few thousands of different species including the famous Piranha S and Tetra S.
One finds the characins in the tropical lakes and rivers of the majority of the countries of South America, Central America, and central Africa.
In the beginning, these fish were gathered in only one family, the Characidae, which one had included in the Cypriniformes. From now on they are divided into some 15 different families.
