Charachka

A charachka (in the plural charachki , IPA: ) was the abstract name of Soviet secret laboratories, pertaining to the system of the Gulag. Their first name was “special offices of construction” before being integrated in the “Fourth special Department” of NKVD. A thousand of scientists, engineers and technicians were to work there, among whom famous the Andreï Tupolev.
