Chantess

Chantesse is a common French, located in the department of the Isere and the area the Rhone-Alps.

Geography

Chantess is a small village isérois, located between Grenoble and Valence (approximately 50 km) and between Tullins and Vinay (less than 10 km). However, of many exchanges (CPAM agencies, ANPE, College, House of the economy…), also take place with St Marcellin (15 km).

Chantess rises to 300 m of altitude in edge of the solid mass of the Chambaran (east coast) vis-a-vis the Vercors, is not far from a49 highway.

Agriculture produces primarily nuts (zone AOC of Nut of Grenoble - Possibility of visiting the Large drier, museum of Nut, in Vinay) and corn.

It remains unfortunately not enough farmers and much of grounds intended for the culture become… allotments. The houses call roads and cars The cars call speed, the accidents and the noise. Of course, without new inhabitants, more school and in the long term a village which dies. It east can be that progress.

It is a village with many sources, marshes protected rich in various species from insects and batrachians. Fauna (deer tribe) is also very important, this is why most of the territory becomes a hunting preserve in autumn (association of hunters: ACCA Chantesse).

Life at the village

Chantess has a school functioning in partnership with the close villages. The classes are distributed by level in each village. Chantess accommodates the pupils of CM1 and CM2.

It is a small rural district without trade but which counts a dynmic sports association proposing courses of gym and which organizes each year a demonstration at the time of Telethon. Without forgetting the ACCA Chantesse which proposes ds animations regularly.
