Geography
History
Chanoz was, about the year 1000, the place chief of Ager Casnensis, mentioned in a charter of the abbey of Cluny.
It was then a parish, under the term of Martin Saint, whose archbishop of Lyon was outlet drain.
The church was plundered in 1378 by the troops of the lord de Beaujeu. The origin of its name would be oak which would have given Châtenay.
