Chano Pozo
Chano Pozo is a percussionnist Cuba in which largely contributed to the fusion of the jazz and the music Cuban Negro.
From its true name Luciano Chano Gonzalez , it was born on January 7th 1915 in the district from Vedado with Havana.
He is the half-brother of the trumpet player Felix Chapottín. Orphan of mother as of the eight years age, it grows in a poor district of the center of Havana.
Known for a its violent, and imprisoned temperament on several occasions. He was nevertheless a type-setter and a percussionnist inspired.
Initiated at the religious traditional rates/rhythms of the secret society of the Abakua, it will make irruption in the world of the jazz with New York at the beginning of the Années 1940.
