Channels
the Channels is a regional Municipalité of county (MRC) Canadian of the Quebec of the administarive area of the Mauricie. It is made up of 10 municipalities. The chief town of the Channels is Saint-Luc-with-Vincennes. The prefect of the MRC is Gerard Bruneau, who cumulates also the function of mayor of Saint-Maurice.
History
The MRC of the Channels was created on January 1st 2002 following the dissolution of the MRC of Francheville and the MRC of the Center-with-the-Mauricie. The majority of the municipalities came from the first except for Our-Lady-of-Mount-Carmel.
