Changzhou (常 州; Pinyin: Chángzhōu) is a city of the province Jiangsu in China. One speaks the dialect there about Changzhou of the group of the dialects of Taihu of the wu.

One finds there inter alia a museum of the dinosaurs and prehistory, amusing has to visit and rather instructive, but rather for the children.

Economy

One of the local artisanal activities is the production of painted combs out of wooden, famous in all China. This celebrity seems to be acquired in the past owing to the fact that the combs of Changzhou are with very fine teeth, which is ideal against the lice…

The city-prefecture of Changzhou exerts its jurisdiction on seven subdivisions - five districts and two city-counties  :

  • the district of Tianning - 天宁区 Tiānníng Qū   ;
  • the district of Qishuyan - 戚墅堰区 Qīshùyàn Qū   ;
  • the district of Xinbei - 新北区 Xīnběi Qū   ;
  • the district of Wujin - 武进区 Wǔjìn Qū   ;
  • the town of Jintan - 金坛市 Jīntán Shì   ;
  • the town of Liyang - 溧阳市 Lìyáng Shì .
