Changde (常德; Pinyin: Chángdé) is a city of the province Hunan in China. One speaks the dialect there about Changde of the Mandarin of south-west.

Climate

The average temperatures of Changde go from + 4,3°C for the coldest month to +28,7°C for the hottest month, with an annual average of +16,7°C (figures stopped in 1988), and the Pluviométrie is there of 1347,8  mm (figures stopped in 1990).

History

During the Sino-Japanese war, the area was hard tested by the Armée imperial Japanese woman who spread there the Peste in 1941 and 1942, with the assistance with the Unité 731, and there employed the chemical weapons in 1943 at the time of the invasion of the city. Some of the persons in charge of these operations were judged by Soviet at the time of the lawsuit of Khabarovsk.

Economy

In 2004, total GDP was of 58,3 billion Yuan S, and the GDP per capita of: 11014 yuans.

Changde has an airport (code AITA: CGD).

The city-prefecture of Changde exerts its jurisdiction on nine subdivisions - two districts, a city-county and six counties  :

  • the county of Anxiang - 安乡县 Ānxiāng Xiàn   ;
  • the county of Hanshou - 汉寿县 Hànshòu Xiàn   ;
  • the county of Li - 澧县 Lǐ Xiàn   ;
  • the county of Linli - 临澧县 Línlǐ Xiàn   ;
  • the county of Taoyuan - 桃源县 Táoyuán Xiàn   ;
  • the county of Shimen - 石门县 Shímén Xiàn .
