Changchub Dorje

The 12th Karmapa Changchub Dorje (1703 - 1732).

Changchub Dorje was born in 1703 in Chile Chakhor in the kingdom from Dege from the Kham, area Is Tibet. He was recognized like 12th Karmapa by Mingyour Dorje. The representatives of the 8th Shamar Rinpoché confirmed its discovery.

It gave lesson Kagyupa to the famous Master Nyingmapa of the Monastery of Kathok, which, in return, shared its lesson Nyingmapa. The Tibet had become politically unstable under the reign of Kelzang Gyatso, the 7th Dalaï Lama, because the Dzoungar S and the China had tried to control the Gouvernement Tibetan. The 12th Karmapa went in a pilgrimage in India and with the Nepal, accompanied by Taï Sitou Rinpoché, Shamar Rinpoché and Gyaltsab Rinpoché. With the Nepal, he was thanked by the king, to have stopped an epidemic, and to have brought the rain putting an end to a serious dryness. They continued towards the India, visiting the places there where was born and died the Bouddha. The young person Taï Sitou Rinpoché, who impressed the Indian scholars by his knowledge.

On its return to the Tibet, the 12th Karmapa accepted an invitation of the emperor of China for one second visit in China, and got under way accompanied by Shamar Rinpoché. Envisaging however future political difficulties, and carrying out the need to leave its body, the Karmapa sent to the Taï Sitou Rinpoché a letter containing of the details of its future incarnation, and succumbed to the Variole, like Shamar Rinpoché 2 days later.
