Chang quan
The chang quan is a traditional Boxe north of the China. It was built and taught primarily in the Moslem community of the Hui.
It is characterized by these many jumped kicks, the lengthening of the postures and the movements. This boxing claims on behalf of the practitioner of gymnic qualities (flexibility and tonicity).
One should not confuse this style with several sequences of the Shaolin quan traditional which bear this name, nor with the modern versions of the Shaolin quan .
In 1956 the National Commission of physical education ( Guojia Ti Wei ) carries out a synthesis of several boxings of the north of China in order to create a more sporting boxing. This boxing was called Chang quan (“long fist” or “boxes long”). This chang quan modern wanted to be an official synthesis several Moslem boxings: Cha quan , Hooted quan , CAM quan and Hong quan , all selected for their gymnic quualities (tonicity, stretching) and choreographic. This boxing is used as a basis for the unit of the schools of Wushu gong fu dependant on the regional sporting institutions or main road.
