Chanel Africa

Chanel Africa ( Channel Africa in French) is the radiophonic service of diffusion international of South African Broadcasting Corporation (South Africa). It emits in short waves, by satellite and Internet. Its programs have as subjects information, the culture, the sports, and more generally all that relates to the South Africa or the unintermitting African.

History

Radio RSA

At the origin of Chanel Africa Radio RSA is: The Voice off South Africa , service of international diffusion of radiophonic programs of the Republic of South Africa. Its launching takes place on May 1st 1966. The station then diffuses programs of information and opinion which often make propaganda to defend apartheid and to attack ANC.

Chanel Africa

In 1992, with the end of the mode of discrimination towards the blacks and the election of the ANC to the government, Radio RSA is famous Chanel Africa. From the station engaged in a redefinition of its values and supports the democratic values which have course in the country since the end of the segregation.

Programs

Chanel Africa emits by short waves, satellite and Internet, like by World Radio Network. The diffusion by satellite is done by STEP 10 and is accessible thanks to decoders SENTECH. The emissions are done in chinchewa, Lozi, Swahili, English, French and Portuguese. The cover by short waves relates to the African continent, by satellite it is especially sub-Saharan Africa which is concerned though it is possible to collect the station until London.
