Chancellor of Reich
The chancellor of Reich ( of Reichskanzler ) was the Head of government German Reich under the Weimar Republic.
Contrary to the imperial Chancelier under the Empire, which depended only on the emperor, it was responsible in front of the Reichstag in addition to the being in front of the President for Reich. The Constitution, which makes Gouvernement of Reich a collegial body, in addition recognizes to him only one right to watch limited on the action of the ministers.
The function was amalgamated with that of President of Reich after the death of Paul von Hindenburg in August 1934 with the profit of the chancellor Adolf Hitler, who took the title of “Führer and chancellor of Reich”.
