Chancelade ( Chancelada in Occitan) is a common French, located in the department of the the Dordogne and the area Aquitaine.

In 1793, the commune of Beauronne takes the name of Chancelade .

In 1809, the part Andrivaux of the old commune of Merlande-and-Andrivaux amalgamate with Chancelade .

The abbey of Chancelade

founded Abbey at the 12th century, devastated by the Protestant at the 16th century, and rebuilt at the 17th century. It was directed by Alain de Solminihac (1593-1659), which had inherited his/her uncle it. It is surrounded by four Hectare S of parks and gardens.
