Championships of Spain of cycling

The Championnat of Spain of cycling on road exists since 1897.

Characteristics of the organization

• the first edition took place in 1897 but the second only in 1902.
• the championship of Spain was organized every year of 1902 with today except for 1937 (war of Spain).
• the Puerto business involved a strike of the runners and the cancellation of the edition 2006. The runners were arrétés after only 3 km. They protest against the charges of doping in Spanish cycling.
