Championships of Europe of athletics 2006

19 be Championnats of Europe of athletics took place of the 7 to the August 13rd 2006 with Gothenburg in Sweden, in the stage Ullevi which had already been the stage of the Championnats of the world of 1995. The candidature of Gothenburg was essential vis-a-vis that of Barcelona at the time of the congress of the European Athletic Association of the October 6th 2001. Amsterdam had already withdrawn its candidature.

  • Bartels was still out of the podium before its last test, having made a success of only 20,57 m whereas Mikhnevich and Olsen carried out the contest as of their second test. But to its last test, Bartels launched further two centimetres that Mikhnevich. The last throw of Olsen to 21,04 m was insufficient to change the classification.
