Championship of the world of female basketball 1979

The championship of the world of female basketball 1979 was held with Seoul in South Korea in 1979. Organized by FIBA, it is the 8th championship of the world of female basketball.

They are twelve teams which disputed the title.

the two first of each group are qualified for hens of eighth of finale. The teams with equality of points decide between themselves according to their particular matches.

the United States, as holding of the title, is also qualified for the final turn.
