Championship of baseball of Puerto Rico
the League of Professional Baseball of Puerto Rico ( LBPPR ) is the professional league of Baseball high level of Puerto Rico born in 1938. It is made up of six teams which dispute an eliminatory championship, a semi-final in which take part the four best clubs, and a final series between two the best of the season. At the end of the season the champion represents Puerto Rico with the Series of the Caribbean.
History
The league is born in 1938 under the name of Liga Semi-Pro from Béisbol from Puerto Rico , avecc the support of Charlie García de Quevedo and of Enrique Huyke. This year there there were six participating teams: Criollos de Caguas, Gray of Humacao, Indios de Mayagüez, Pirated Kofresí de Ponce, Senadores de San Juan and the Venerables of Guayama. In 1939 the league makes enter the Tiburones de Aguadilla and the Cangrejeros de Santurce. Currently the LBPPR knows problems following the weak multitude of spectators.
