Championship of Morocco of football

The Championship of the Morocco of Football, known as GNF (National Grouping of Football), or Botola , account 16 clubs in the first division (GNF 1), it is one of the championships of football most raised in Africa.

The record of titles is held by the Wydad of Casablanca and FAR of Reduction with 11 titles each one followed by the Raja de Casablanca with 8 titles.

Structure of the championship

Created in 1956, the Championship of Morocco of the 1st division took the name of GNF 1 (National Grouping of Football) in 1998-99, at the end of each season, the club champion and the vice-champion are qualified with the Ligue of the Champions of the CIF and those classified between the 3me and the 4me place are distributed between the Ligue of the Arab Champions and the Coupe of the CIF.

Since 2000, the official and principal sponsor of the GNF is Maroc Telecom, with an annual amount are equivalent to 1.100.000 $, the short contract until in 2009. This contract relates to the GNF 1 as much that the GNF 2.

Rights TV

In December 2006, GNF signed a contract with the bouquet TV ART Network for the retransmission TV of the matches of an amount of 27 million $ per one 5 years duration.

In addition, SNRT, the historical diffuser TV of the GNF renewed its contract in September 2007, for an entire amount of 28 million $ over 3 years. Thus the 8 matches of each day of the championship are retransmis on Arryadia, RTM and 2M.
