Championship of Japan of baseball
Before 1950, the Japanese teams evolved/moved in a single league. As from 1949-1950, the country has two leagues of Baseball: Central League and Pacific League . The champions of each one of these leagues clash in October in the Japan series .
Japanese Baseball League (1937-1949)
Of 1937 with 1949, the Japanese teams clash within the same league. Starting from 1949, the teams divide themselves into two leagues.-

After the season 2004, the team of the Orix BlueWave and that of the Osaka Kintetsu Buffaloes amalgamate in a team, the Orix Buffaloes. Following this fusion, a new frankness is created so that the League remains with six teams. The Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles begin in championship at the time of the season 2005.
Since the season 2004, the championship of the League is decreed with the winner of the eliminatory series in two turns. The first turn opposes the classified teams second and third of the regular season. The winner at the head meets the club having finished classification at the time of the Série of championship of the peaceful League . The champion of the League disputes the Japan Series vis-a-vis the champion of the central Ligue to determine the national champion.
