Championship of France of football D2 1965-66

Championship of France of D2 football 1965-1966 with a single hen of 19 clubs with the attribution of the title to the Stage of Rheims which reaches in the first division in company of the Olympique of Marseilles. Following the abandonment of the statute pro of the US Forbach and US Marignane as well as fusion of RC Paris with UA Sedan-Torcy, the second division will be made up of 18 club the following season.

Stoppings for the accession in division 1

The classified clubs of the 2nd division 3rd and 4th will meet the clubs of the 1st division classified respectively 16th and 17th at the conclusion of the championship. The stoppings proceed in the form of a mini tournament with the 4 teams which meet by matches outward journey and return. At the conclusion of this tournament, the two first reach the 1st division and both the last desccendent in the 2nd division.

At the conclusion of the stoppings the Olympic Nimes and LOSC Lille Métropole keep their places in the first division.
