Championship of France of Rugby Signal 14 in 2005-06
The Championnat of France of Rugby to XV of the first division bears the name of Top 14 as from the season 2005-2006. As its name indicates it, fourteen clubs dispute this competition.
After a phase of classification per matches outward journey and return, putting at the catches all the teams, the first four teams are qualified for the semi-finals and the two last teams are retrogressed in Pro D2.
The four first teams qualified for the semi-finals into 2005-06 are: Olympic Biarritz, French Stage, Stade Toulousain and USAP.
The Olympic Biarritz finally gains the championship of Rugby Top 14 after having beaten the Stade Toulousain. It thus gains one 3rd of champion of France during the years 2000. The Stade Toulousain finally loses one second time after its last title gained in 2001.
The Paloise section and the RC Toulon will play as a Pro D2 in 2006-07, they will be replaced in the Signal 14 by the US Montauban and SC Albi.
