Championship of Finland of D2 football

The championship of Finland of Football D2 ( Ykkönen ) is a competition of football placed under the aegis of the Fédération of Finland of football. In spite of its name (which means first), it is only the second level after the Veikkausliiga , the professional league. The Ykkönen championship is played at the same time as Veikkausliiga, i.e. mainly in summer. Division comprises 14 clubs, which play each one a match outward journey and a return match against the 13 others. The winner of the championship of D2 is automatically promoted in Veikkausliiga, and the second plays a match of stopping return ticket against the last but one. The two teams the least best classified are relegated in the third division ( Kakkonen ) and the 11 and 12th play of the matches of stopping.
