Championship of Europe of rink hockey 2006

The Championnat of Europe of rink hockey 2006 is the 47e edition of the male Championnat of Europe of rink hockey, the European competition of rink hockey which takes place every two years. The competition proceeded with Monza, in Italy in the Pallazo dello Sport , so known like Pala Candy , between the 16 and on July 22nd. The Spain gained this competition for the 13th time, by beating the Suisse 2-0 finally. The Portugal finishes on the 3rd place of the podium, by beating the Italy 5-4. The competition belonged to the Euro Roller Games 2006 , which also organized the European championships of speed skating and figure skating.

Format

The 9 teams taking part are divided in 3 groups of 3 teams each one. Each team plays against the other teams of the same group and all the teams are qualified for the quarterfinal, except for the least good of the classified teams 3rd.

Then, the losers and the team which was not in quarterfinal play in a hen to allot places 5 to 9. So teams already met before this hen, the match will not be rejoué: the results of phase I are taken into account.

The winners of the quarterfinals meet according to the system of direct elimination. A match is also played for 3rd and 4th places between the losers of the semi-finals.

All the matches last 40 minutes, divided into 2 20 minutes half-times, instead of the 50 minutes usual in championship.
