Championship of Europe of football Hopes 2007

The final stage of the edition 2007 of the championship of Europe of the footballing nations hopes proceeded June 10th with the June 23rd 2007 with the Netherlands. This competition is exceptionally close to the preceding one because it is held from now on the odd years; the even years from now on are reserved for the selections " A" - i.e. not-Hope.

Eliminating heats

To accelerate the qualifications, considering the lack of time available, the phases of group were limited.

the sixteen weakest teams with coefficient UEFA have diputer a preliminary round based on a match return ticket.
With the eight teams thus qualified united the 34 other teams (Netherlands being described as office) for diputer a turn of qualification. Separated of 14 groups of 3 drawn with the fate, the teams dispute then, a home match against a team and a match outside against the other. The first of each group reach the following turn then.
Lastly, a turn of stoppings in matches return ticket makes it possible to retain only 7 teams which will accomplish the voyage to the Netherlands.

The semi-finalists are qualified for the Olympic Games of summer of 2008 with Beijing.

Stopping

The England not being a nation from the point of view of CIO, it cannot take part in the Olympic Games of summer of 2008. A match of stopping is thus organized between the two third of group. The winner 4th will then be qualified.
