Championship of Europe of basketball 2005

The Championnat of Europe of basketball 2005 was held 16 with the September 25th 2005 in Serbia-and-Montenegro.

Result

Greece gains the competition in front of Germany and France.

The six first, namely Greece, Germany, France, Spain, Lithuania and Slovenia, will be qualified for the Championnat of the world of basketball 2006.

The German Dirk Nowitzki was named MVP of the tournament and figure in the five major one at the sides of the Greeks Dimítris Diamantídis and Theódoros Papaloukás, the Spaniard Juan Carlos Navarro and of the French Boris Diaw.

The first of each group are qualified for the quarterfinals. The second and third are qualified for stoppings where the second of a group meets the third of another:

The four winners of these stoppings meet the four first qualified in quarterfinals.
