Championship of Czechoslovakia of hockey
The championship of Czechoslovakia of Hockey takes place between 1936 and 1993, year of the partition of the country into two.
History
The first match of championship takes place on January 3rd, 1937 between ČSK Vítkovice and the AC Sparta Prague. In addition to these two clubs, five others dispute the first championship: LTC Prague, the AC Stadion České Budějovice, HC Tatry Poprad, the Troppauer EV Opava, SK Slavia Prague and the BK Mladá Boleslav. At the conclusion of the seven matches by team the LTC gains the first of its futures twelve championships.In 1951, the championship takes the name of Mistrovství republiky , five years later that of 1.liga and in 1992-93, for its last season, the name of Extraliga is taken. At January 1st, 1993, Czechoslovakia is divided into two and the two leagues Czech and Slovak created take again the name of Extraliga while adding the name of a sponsor.
Thus, at the dawn of the season 2007-08, the leagues are named: 02 Extraliga for the Czech Republic and Slovnaft Extraliga for Slovakia.

Assessments
The most titrated clubs are HC Dukla Jihlava and LTC Prague with twelve titles each one. Only three Slovak clubs gained the championship, HC Dukla Trenčín, HC Košice and HC Slovan Bratislava for a total of 4 titles out of 58 championships of Czechoslovakia.
