Championship of Czech Republic of hockey

The Extraliga is the highest professional league of Hockey in Czech Republic. The winner 2007 of the edition was HC Sparta Prague.

History

Extraliga exists since 1993 - it draws its roots of old the the first division Czechoslovakian which was dissolved after the scission of the country in two parts, that is to say the Czech Republic and the Slovakia.

Thus, at the same time as the scission is realized, each country adopts a championship bearing the same name. The name of the league is to be rented, and it changes regularly, according to the name of the sponsor. The league bore the following names:

In 1999-00, Staropramen Extraliga ;
Of 2000 to 2002 Český Telecom Extraliga ;
Of 2002 to 2006 Tipsport Extraliga ;
Since the beginning of the season 2006: O2 Extraliga .

The championship of Slovakia is currently called the Slovnaft Extraliga .

Payment

In 2006-07, the federation introduced new payments. These changes are:
