Championship of Belgium of Rugby

1st Division

The 1st championship of Belgium sponsored by Racing Jet of Brussels (then Schaerbeek Rugby Club) is organized by the federation in 1936-37. It bears the name of " Burlet" challenge; because it is dedicated to Pierre Burlet (player of schaerbeek died in an air crash on December 4th, 1935) and 7 teams take part in it. The challenge is also represented by a sculpture of bronze rugbymen of Louis Van Cutsem carried out thanks to the funds joined together by subscription by the Burlet family.

In '63- '64, no Belgian clubs will be registered there thus privileging the championship of Belgium which counts 8 clubs then. The two last editions had however been gained by the RSCA-Rugby (5th victory!), in '62, and a. S. of the Universit3e libre de Bruxelles (1st victory, in '63).

2nd Division

(Before the season '67- '68, there was only one division divided into 2 hens. Since his creation, the champion of D2 will be, according to the various formulas of championship of D1, that is to say 9th, 11th, 13th or the 15th Belgian club)
