Championship DTM 2006

The championship DTM 2006 was held April 9th with the October 29th 2006, on a total of 10 races, and was gained by the German pilot Bernd Schneider, at the wheel of a Mercedes.

Presentation

Confirming the will of internationalization of the discipline, season 2006 of DTM proceeded on 4 circuits located apart from the German borders. To the traditional sleeve of Zandvoort in the Netherlands were thus added a test in Great Britain (in Brands Hatch), a test in Spain (circuit from Catalonia to Barcelona) and another in France (on the Bugatti circuit in Mans).

Following the withdrawal of the competition of Opel, championship 2006 was limited to a fight between only two manufacturers: Audi and Mercedes.
