Champeix

Champeix is a common French, located in the department of the Puy-de-Dôme and the area Auvergne.

Its inhabitants is called the champillaud (E).

Geography

Place of convergence of the roads of Issoire and Clermont-Ferrand towards the Monts Gilds, Champeix is a traditionally commercial small town, with the southernmost charm, staged on the slopes of the valley of the Couze Chambon and framed terraces which were entirely planted of Vigne S.

  • Castle of Marchidial, second residence with the XIIe century of the Dolphins of Auvergne, whose Donjon was destroyed in 1633 on order of Richelieu, and like much of other fortified towns of the area. Restored by the voluntary ones.
