Champagne Duck-Duchêne

The Country cottage Canard-Duchêne was founded in 1868 by Victor Canard, wet cooper, and Léonie Duchêne, girl of a vine grower. Its seat is with Ludes in the vineyard of the Montagne de Reims and the house belongs since October 2003 to the Group Alain Thiénot, owner of his own brand and the marks Marie Stuart and Joseph Perrier . The house is directed by Jean-Louis Malard (managing director) which has also a mark in proper name.

Starting from 1890, the house was directed by Edmond Canard, the son of the founders, then starting from 1930 by Victor Canard. In 1978, the house enters group LVMH, before joining in 2003 the family group of Alain Thiénot.

  • Production:

    • 2,5 million bottles in 2003.
    • 2,9 million bottles in 2004, including 40% with export in 9 regions (Germany, Switzerland, the Benelux countries, French Polynesia, Reunion, Cyprus, Russia, South Africa and Dubai).
    • 3,3 million bottles in 2005.
  • Distribution : The mark is very present among cavists and in the traditional restoration.

  • Stocks : 10 million bottles in 6 km of galleries of chalky cellars.
