Chamborigaud

Chamborigaud is a common French, located in the department of the Gard and the area Languedoc-Roussillon.

Geography

It is a village in full nature in the the southernmost Cevennes, ground of freedom, located at one hour of Nimes on the historical axis between the littoral and Paris by the Massif Central. This village offers to the foot Mont Lozere of the corners of Baignade S arranged, circuits of Randonnée S pedestrian, equestrian, VTT.

History

Chamborigaud (Gard) was initially a hamlet become at the 18th century a Paroisse of the Diocèse of Uzès, senior of Sénéchas. The inhabitants made themselves famous in the Guerre of the camisards (1702 - 1705).

In 1867, is completed the construction of the Viaduc of Chamborigaud for the Ligne of the Cevennes (conceived by Charles Dombre, Mr. Ruelle, Mr. Joubert), single by its curve and its 41 arches.
