Chambon-the-Forest is a common French, located in the department of the Loiret and the area Center.

Geography

Chambon-the-forest is located at approximately 32,5 km as the crow flies in the North-East of the prefecture Orleans and at approximately 14 km in the south-south-east of the sub-prefecture Pithiviers.

The communal territory includes/understands part of the Forêt of Orleans, with the edge of which the village is. Is commune is located in the valley of small Rimarde, tributary of the Rimarde which is thrown to north in the river the Essonne.

The secondary roads 30 in north and 114 in the south connect Chambon to Pithiviers in north and the Trunk road 60 (portion Orleans Montargis) in the south.

History

Chambon takes the name of Chambon-the-Forest by a decree of the April 2nd 1913.
