Chamarandes-Choignes
Chamarandes-Choignes is a common French, located in the department of the Haute-Marne and the area Champagne-Ardenne.
Geography
The commune of Chamarandes Choignes consists of these two villages, located on the edges of the Marne, in the East of Chaumont, the place chief of the department on which they are bordering. These villages profit from a pleasant situation, with two steps of the city but in a privileged environment, organized around the river and channel of the Marne in the Saone which constitutes the backbone of the communal territory. The wood of Right Bank constitutes a place of walk privileged for the walkers and the vetetists, as well as a famous territory of hunting. It is not rare to cross there roe-deers, hinds or other deer tribe.

General GIRARDEL, born in Chamarandes (the High Marne) the 5/18/1842Captain in 1870. Fact the war of 1870 as aide-de-camp of the General of Abadie d' Aydrein. Take part in the businesses of Busancy, Wood the Ladies, Beaumont and with the battle of Sedan. With its return of captivity, it is used for the 1e provisional regiment, then again with 97e IH.
Major general the 10/12/1901. Order 36e DI (02), then 13th CA (1903-1905).
