The kind Chamaedorea belongs to the family of the Arécacées. It is a kind of Palmier, which includes/understands a very high number of species.
Description

Feather-grass. They are palm trees with single feather-grass, or stoloniferous. They are of small size with average. Certain species are climbing. The feather-grasses are smooth and of green color.

Habitat
The kind is native forests of the wet tropical areas of the South America, Mexico and Central America. It affectionate shade. It is very largely planted apart from its habitat of origin.
