Chalcis

Chalcis (in Greek old Χαλκίς / Khalkís , in Greek modern Χαλκίδα Halkídha ) is the main city of the Eubée, in Greece, located on the strait of the Euripe.

Its name comes from its arms factories in Airain (in Greek χαλκός / khalkós ). As of the EC is a powerful city and whose from many colonists which starts found cities with Rhégion, Catane, Léontinoï in Sicily, Cumes in Italy of the south, and in Chalcidique in the north of the Aegean Sea where it founds more than thirty cities.
