Chagnon is a common French, located in the department of the the Loire and the area the Rhone-Alps.

History
Chagnon counts many vestiges of the Roman aqueduct called of Gier (117-138 after J.C.). This aqueduct led water of Gier collected to Saint-Chamond (hamlet of Izieux) until Lyon, after a course of 85 km.The name of Chagnon appears for the first time in 1153 in a bubble of the Pope Eugene 3.
The vault of Chagnon belonged to the abbey of Ainay to 12th. Chagnon was with the number of the localities of which the tale of Drill and the church of Lyon disputed the possession at the 12th century.
