Chadhiliyya

The Chadhiliyya , thus named by reference to its founder Abou Hassan Al-Chadhili, is a brotherhood soufie.

Spread in the the Maghreb as of, it extended its influence in Egypt, Syria and Arabia. Partisans of a Islam open and tolerant, the chadhilis are present today in the Balkans, Saharan Africa, the Indian Ocean, the Southeast Asia, the China, the Europe and the the United States. Everywhere where they can it, they are opposed to rigorism Wahhabisme and all the forms of Islamic Intégrisme . The Egyptian chadhilis are moreover famous for their mystical songs.

The doctrines, reported on the third Master of the brotherhood, Ahmad Ibn “ATA Allah, try to make coincide doctrinal orthodoxy and the spiritual realization through the intensive practice of the dikr (evocation of the name of Allah similar to the Mantra S Hindus and the Christian Oraison). The practices were specified by Al-Jazuli whose disciples founded the brotherhood Isawiyya.

Rene Guénon and Frithjof Schuon was followers of Chadhiliyya.
